Thank you so much for inquiring about being a part of our Staff in Training program at Little Eden Camp. The Staff in Training (SIT) program was created to give high school students an opportunity to experience, on a small scale, what it's like to be a part of our Little Eden summer staff. During the three week session, they will work side by side with our summer staff but also have times of building community, strengthening their walks with the Lord, learning life skills as well as work skills and gaining a heart for serving the Lord at Little Eden. They will also have the opportunity to experience a bit of what Northern Michigan has to offer by taking some trips to do fun activities in the area.
We will be running two sessions of our Staff In Training program for the summer of 2022. We will take 4 high school students aged 16-19 for each of the two sessions. The first session, June 26-July 17, will have openings for 4 high school males and the second session, July 17-August 7, will have openings for 4 high school females.
Room and board is provided and all activities are paid for by camp. At the end of the session, each participant will receive a $300 stipend for participating in the three week program.
As you scroll below, you will find several pieces of information:

Staff in Training Activities and Responsibilities—The Staff in Training program is meant to be a time of service to camp and camper families while also building community and learning about yourself and others. We want everyone applying to understand what activities you will participate in and what responsibilities you are accepting as a part of the program. So please read it carefully.
Little Eden Statement of Faith—The Little Eden Camp Statement of Faith. We ask all our Staff In Training participants to read through it. We expect all our SIT participants to fully respect, live by the Statement of Faith during the SIT session at Little Eden Camp.

Staff in Training Activities and Responsibilities
Staff in Training Responsibilities:
Six shifts on the weekly schedule: You will be scheduled six shifts per week. Some shifts will be straight shifts and some will be split shifts. Everyone works Saturday, which is turn-over day at camp.
Sundays: The SIT participants will have Sundays off. They will be a part of Sunday morning worship, helping with offering or handing out song sheets. On their day off they will be going on an outing as a small group. This will consist of an activity to enjoy in Northern Michigan. All activity costs will be covered by camp.
Staff Devotions: All staff attend devotions (Monday—Saturday) except on their day off.
Evening Staff Outing: On Friday evenings, summer and year round staff have an evening where they do things as a whole team to build community and enjoy time together. SIT participants will join in with these activities. In the past we have played mini golf, grilled over the fire, enjoyed the beach at camp and even went for a tug boat ride. Often these evenings include ice cream or some other yummy dessert! And camp picks up the tab for these evenings so there’s no cost to you.
Thursday Night Volleyball: A Thursday Night tradition at Little Eden includes the winning volleyball team of the week plays the Little Eden summer staff team, which includes all staff members and SIT participants. This game happens around 7:15 p.m. If you win, Wayne and Lynda will personally buy you ice cream.
Evening Teaching Times: Staff in Training participants will have three times a week where they will meet as a small group for Bible studies, teambuilding or personal development times.
Little Eden Camp Statement of Faith
We believe the Bible is the inspired, infallible, authoritative Word of God.
We believe that there is one God, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
We believe that God created the universe and everything in it. The culminating work of His creative activity was the creation of human beings, male and female, who are made in His image. Therefore from the moment of conception until natural death, human life should be cherished and protected.
We believe the Lord Jesus to be both truly God and truly man. We believe in His virgin birth, His sinless life, His miracles, His substitutional and atoning death through His shed blood, His bodily resurrection, His ascension to the right hand of the Father, and in His personal return in power and glory.
We believe that every person is fallen, sinful and lost. We firmly maintain that no one is saved by an act of his own will alone. The Holy Spirit brings about the new birth and works in the soul of the sinner, convicting him of sin, repentance toward God and faith in our Lord Jesus Christ.
We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit, by whose indwelling a Christian is enabled to live a Godly life.
We believe that the Gospel should be proclaimed to every person on earth, and that it is the responsibility of all who hear the Gospel to repent of their sins and rebellion against God, to believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and receive justification and the forgiveness of sins.
We believe that redemption is wholly by the blood of Christ; that salvation is by grace through faith in our Lord Jesus Christ; and that every true child of God possesses eternal life and will never perish.
We believe in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost; those who are in Christ will receive glorified bodies and dwell forever with the Lord in Heaven. Those who are spiritually lost will be consigned to Hell, the place of everlasting punishment.
We believe the marital relationship, instituted by God, is between one man and one woman only, and establishes the only proper place and pattern of sexual relations. Furthermore, we believe that gender is ordained by God and cannot be changed or altered by human will.
We believe that the universal church, a living organism known as the body of Christ, is composed of all believers of every age since its inception at Pentecost. We believe that Christ is the head of the church and is Himself its Savior. We believe that local churches are composed of believers in any community who assemble in Christ's name.
